Team Training

Epic Sports currently have 4 teams for junior training:
Team 1 – High performance
Team 2 – Competitive Development
Team 3 – Intermediate
Team 4 – Fundamental

Tryouts REQUIRED for all teams except Team 4.
*no Refund, Cancellation for absents, make up classes are allowed (if space permits) and must be made up before the term ends *

Team training registration is per season
Current Season: July 1, 2019 – September 1, 2019
Next Season: September 2, 2019 – December 22, 2019

Team 1 – High Performance

Competing for provincial and national tournaments.
High intensity training for committed players competing in high performance level and above

Requirements:
– Years of intensive training experience
– Experience in high level tournaments
– High level of fitness, capable of playing intensive matches for 2-3 hours
– Capable of consistently carrying out deceptive shots in game play

Wednesday6:00pm – 8:00pm (Technique Training)
Saturday1:30pm – 3:00pm (Ladder)
Saturday3:00pm – 4:00pm (Fitness: Strength + Endurance)

Team 2 – Competitive Development

Fine tuning strategy, technique and fitness required for high level competition.
Suitable for players with at least 1 year previous training that is interested in competition in the future

Requirements:
– Able to play different shots consistently and understand strategy behind shot placements. Namely, drop, smash, clear, push, drive, and net.
– Fluent full court footwork
– Capable of competing in a fast-paced rally

Friday6:00pm – 8:00pm (Technique Training)
Saturday1:30pm – 3:00pm (Ladder)
Saturday3:00pm – 4:00pm (Fitness: Strength + Endurance)

Team 3 – Intermediate

Suitable for Junior Players (age:9-17) with previous training. Students will develop higher consistency, faster footwork, advance skills and strategy.
Students will be evaluated periodically. Qualified students will be selected to the competition development for training to compete at Ontario tournaments.
Further improving basic techniques and game knowledge.

Requirements:
– Able to perform fundamental badminton strokes
– Basic in and out footwork
– Understand proper badminton terminology

Training Schedule:

Saturday3:00pm – 5:00pm
Sunday3:00pm – 5:00pm

Team 4 – Fundamental

The fundamental program is suitable for Junior Players (above 7 years old) interested to develop their basic technique and skills. It is recommended to players who completed the introduction program or has basic badminton skills.
Coaches will evaluate student’s progress periodically and qualified students will advance to the next level when the skill requirements were met.
